So You Think You Can Dance Recap

So I Think I Got Hooked On This Show Last Season. I tried to watch previously but Mary Murphy scared me away. Man, is she obnoxious! Anyway, I got addicted. Here are a few observations from last night’s show. Please note: I’m not quite invested enough to know everyone’s name just yet.

1. I was not surprised that the tappers went off the show. I did however feel like complete crap after finding out that the guy’s dad died recently. When he mentioned about half of the dancers went to the funeral, I just wondered, “Who were the a-holes that DIDN’T go?”

I didn’t think the show was ready sound wise for tappers. The sound consistently sucked. Still, neither of them had strong overall dance skills. Maybe they need a show called So You Think You Can Tap. Ok, maybe online only. I don’t think America is ready for hours and hours of tap competitions.

2. Someone must have told Cat Deely to turn down the crazy facial expressions. I was mortified last week at these over the top faces she was making at the camera. This week, she was toned down quite a bit.

3. It seems really unfair to me that some people are getting these SUPER complex dance styles while others are getting what appear to be simpler routines where if you make a mistake no one can really tell. They gotta find a better way to do this round that drawing styles from a hat.

4. I’m still wondering what was controversial about the Wade Robson piece. Was it the use of props? Was he calling artists crazy? Was it just too easy? I just don’t get it.
