Britney’s Vanguard Award
So, I was really shocked that all Britney got was a bunch of unknown dancers doing her famous moves as her recognition for the MTV Vanguard Award last night. I was like…wait where are the stars? I thought Nicki Minaj was going to be involved???
Not only that, but they let her say like 2 sentences before she had to go on and on about the fantabulous Beyonce. I mean, I like Beyonce and all but let BritBrit shine FOR A HOT SECOND, MTV. Ugh.
It just makes me wonder if MTV was looking to make up for exploiting her back in 2007 by pushing her to perform when she wasn’t ready. (Which they should…but harder.) I think they also may have toned it down because they did a tribute to Amy who has passed….Britney is sitting right there… At least they could have had a famous DJ spinning her songs…something.
I saw her in concert in Raleigh last week and she didn’t really do much other than dance and lip sync but people LOVE her. We’ve seen her so low, that so many of us want her to be back and better than ever. I previously felt that her time had passed, but at that show I was convinced that she is not going away anytime soon.
So, bump MTV and their “Vanguard” award. It’s Britney, bitch!
